Object Now on BANES Portal Why We're Opposed

A planning application has been submitted to BANES Council to build 5 padel tennis courts next to Bathampton Primary School. This development would cause lasting harm to our historic conservation village — and you can help stop it.

Why We're Opposed

Wrong for Bathampton

🔊
Noise
  • The noise created by padel tennis courts is notoriously problematic
  • Constant ball & racket noise has been compared to "gunfire"
  • Planning previously refused at two existing Bath sports facilities over noise concerns
  • Courts open from 6am to 10pm every single day
🚗
Traffic
  • Access next to the school
  • Busy junction, single-lane access
  • Inadequate parking
  • More congestion, more pollution around the school & canal bridge
🏘️
Our Village
  • Commercialises historic village centre
  • Disturbs peace and tranquility
  • Violates conservation area / green belt / AONB, causing lasting harm
🦇
Wildlife
  • Threatens protected bats and other wildlife
  • No noise mitigation planned

Bathampton is a beautiful conservation village.
It is no place for a commercial sports venue.
